Position Purpose
The Electrical Assembler's role is to assemble, prepare, and set up small to medium-sized projects, supporting control fabrication to deliver high-quality products within budget and on schedule.
Essential Responsibilities
- Work individually and as part of a team to fulfill company orders.
- Receive full in-house training on all standards, processes, and products.
- May be required to work overtime to meet deadlines.
- Learn and apply basic electrical concepts, including voltage, current, resistance, and power.
- Use a variety of hand tools safely and effectively, including crimping tools, wire cutters, screwdrivers, pliers, and others.
- Perform routine maintenance on tools and recognize signs of wear or damage.
- Design and layout electrical panels according to specifications, ensuring clear labeling of components.
- Strip insulation from cables cleanly and cut them to the correct length.
- Strive for a positive and proactive attitude, demonstrating enthusiasm and optimism.
- Experience in single-piece flow production lines is beneficial but not mandatory.
Minimum Qualifications
- A High School Diploma or GED.
- Ability to understand and interpret electrical symbols and diagrams.
- Knowledge of mechanical drawings, including assembly, detail, and schematic drawings.
- Understanding of basic electrical concepts, including voltage, current, resistance, and power.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, including crimping tools, wire cutters, screwdrivers, pliers, and others.
- Basic understanding of tool maintenance and performing routine maintenance tasks.
- Ability to recognize signs of wear, damage, or malfunction in tools and know when repairs or replacements are needed.
- Ability to design and layout electrical panels according to specifications, including placing breakers, terminals, and other components.
- Proficiency in labelling circuits, breakers, and other components clearly and accurately.
- Ability to strip insulation from cables cleanly without damaging the conductors.
- Ability to cut cables to the correct length using appropriate tools.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Frequent walking, bending, climbing, pushing, pulling, twisting, squatting, kneeling, standing, and sitting.
- Must be able to lift or move up to 50 lbs and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Moderate exposure to unusual elements such as dirt, dust, fumes, unpleasant odors, and loud noises.
- Some exposure to hazards or physical risks requiring following basic safety precautions.
- Must wear and properly utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as required by the location.
