About the Role

Doyle Electric is seeking motivated, dependable, and safety-focused individuals to join our Registered Electrical Apprenticeship Program. This four-year, earn-while-you-learn program combines paid on-the-job training with structured classroom instruction to prepare apprentices for a successful career as a commercial electrician.

Responsibilities

As an apprentice, you'll work alongside experienced electricians while developing the technical knowledge, practical skills, and professionalism needed to become a highly skilled journeyworker. Your duties will include:

  • Installing commercial electrical systems, wiring, conduit, lighting, and equipment
  • Reading blueprints and electrical drawings
  • Bending, fabricating, and installing conduit systems
  • Installing electrical panels, breakers, and circuits
  • Testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning electrical systems
  • Safely using hand tools, power tools, ladders, lifts, and other equipment
  • Following OSHA regulations, customer requirements, and company safety standards
  • Maintaining clean, organized, and professional job sites
  • Communicating professionally with customers, supervisors, and teammates
  • Participating in classroom instruction and on-the-job training
  • Demonstrating accountability, professionalism, teamwork, and a willingness to learn

Requirements

To be eligible for the program, you must:

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Be eligible to work in the United States
  • Have basic mechanical aptitude and interest in electrical systems
  • Have reliable transportation
  • Have a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
  • Be able to safely use basic hand tools or be willing to learn
  • Be able to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team
  • Be able to perform the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Successfully pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening

Preferred qualifications include a strong work ethic and reliability, commitment to workplace safety, interest in construction and commercial electrical work, ability to learn technical concepts, strong communication and teamwork skills, and a desire to build a long-term career in the electrical industry.

Work Environment

This position works on commercial construction projects throughout Greater Baton Rouge and South Louisiana, including healthcare facilities, offices, educational institutions, retail spaces, and other occupied commercial environments. Apprentices should expect a combination of indoor and outdoor work while maintaining professionalism, safety, and respect for customers and fellow employees.

Physical Requirements

The physical demands of the job include:

  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing, and reaching
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to work from ladders, lifts, and scaffolding
  • Ability to perform repetitive hand and arm movements while using tools and equipment
