Electrical Apprentice

M.J. Nester Specialty Contractors is a leading provider of industrial services including welding, mechanical millwright work, heavy rigging, pipefitting, and plant relocation. Based in the greater Philadelphia area, we serve industrial and commercial facilities nationwide.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of industrial and commercial electrical systems.
• Support PLC wiring, basic programming, and control panel setup.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and blueprints.
• Perform routine testing and inspections under supervision.
• Learn and assist in Welding tasks including MIG, TIG, and Stick processes.
• Support Mechanical maintenance and installation of industrial machinery.
• Participate in rigging, fabrication, and basic millwright duties as needed.
• Maintain a clean and safe jobsite.
• Follow OSHA safety standards and company protocols.
• Communicate effectively with Foremen, Project Managers, and team members.

Requirements

• Basic understanding of electrical systems and tools.
• Willingness to learn PLC systems and industrial controls.
• Interest in welding and mechanical trades.
• Ability to travel up to 75% of the time.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a team-oriented attitude.
• OSHA 10 certification preferred (training provided if not held).
• Valid driver’s license required.
