About the role
Join Our Team as an Electrical Apprentice! Direct Companies is currently seeking a motivated Electrical Apprentice to join our team. This role provides hands-on training and experience in electrical installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting while working under the supervision of experienced electricians.
Responsibilities
- Assist with installation of electrical wiring, conduit, fixtures, and equipment under supervision
- Prepare materials, tools, and equipment required for electrical installations
- Support testing and basic troubleshooting of electrical systems
- Maintain organized work areas and ensure proper handling and storage of electrical materials
- Follow job site safety protocols and proper use of personal protective equipment
- Absorb compliance with the National Electrical Code and local regulations
- Identify potential safety hazards and report concerns to supervisors
- Participate in required safety meetings and training initiatives
- Participate in apprenticeship coursework and technical training programs
- Develop proficiency with electrical tools, equipment, and installation techniques
- Apply classroom learning to practical job site tasks and responsibilities
- Support electricians with assigned tasks to maintain project schedules
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors on job progress
- Demonstrate reliability, accountability, and a willingness to learn and grow in the trade
- Conduct on-site client engagement and operational support activities, requiring travel up to 50–75%.
Requirements
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Enrollment in or willingness to enroll in an electrical apprenticeship program
- Basic understanding of electrical systems or construction environments
- Ability to safely use hand tools and basic power tools
- Strong work ethic with the ability to follow directions and learn quickly
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work in physically demanding environments and job sites
- Previous experience in construction or electrical work
- Basic knowledge of electrical safety practices and codes
- Completion of introductory electrical coursework or trade school training
