About the role
The Kankakee Flooring Plant team has a job opportunity for an Electrical Apprentice located in Kankakee, IL.Job Duties
- Lay out, build, test, troubleshoot, repair, and modify the electrical and controls aspects of production equipment, facility systems, and power distribution systems according to engineering instructions and supervision.
- Perform regular electrical preventative maintenance on equipment as directed by supervision.
- Perform other duties as necessitated by business needs at the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor.
Job Qualifications
- Must be a full-time employee.
- An Electrical Certificate obtained from KCC is required.
- The employee must meet the minimum grade requirements as specified below:
- Individual Courses – employees must receive a grade of “B”/3.0 GPA or better, or a Pass if the course is graded as “Pass/Fail.”
- Degree programs – employees must maintain a cumulative average of “B”/3.0 GPA or a Pass if the institution does not utilize grade point averages.
- Certification courses – employees have two opportunities to pass a certification course.
- Must keep attendance under 4 points.
- Must submit copy of class schedule and registration information.
- Must be able to successfully complete and pass a background check, employment verification and drug screening.
- Positive and Verifiable Work History
- 0-1 years of industrial electrical experience.
Criteria for Class Reimbursement
- AHF Products will reimburse a maximum of 50% of tuition, per course upon successful completion of courses up to $5,000 annual expense (calendar year) subject to a lifetime maximum of $20,000
- In the event of an involuntary termination for unacceptable performance or other disciplinary reasons, or my voluntary termination, you will be required to reimburse AHF Products as follows:
- For Degree courses/programs: All expenses incurred by the Company on behalf of the employee in the past one (1) year* must be reimbursed to AHF Products AND 50% of all expenses incurred by the Company on behalf of the employee between one (1) and two (2) years* must be reimbursed to AHF Products
- No reimbursement is required after two (2) years* of service following the completion of the course.
- For Certification programs: All expenses incurred by the Company on behalf of the employee in the past one (1) year* must be reimbursed to AHF Products
- Employees whose positions are eliminated via a severance or separation agreement or who become disabled after enrollment will not be held responsible for reimbursing the Company for Continuing Education Assistance related expenses.
