Program Description
This program offers technical training to enter the career field of automation as an electrical and instrumentation technician, one of the most sought-after career fields worldwide. Students will design automated electrical systems such as elevators, fire sprinklers, traffic lights, and HVAC systems. The curriculum includes Computerized Electrical Controls, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), industrial and commercial controls in manufacturing, student-built panels, HVAC controls, process controls, and logical thinking and problem-solving.
Program Content
The program provides a sequence of courses that align with challenging academic standards and technical knowledge needed for entry-level positions in the manufacturing career cluster. It includes communication skills, leadership skills, human relations, safe and efficient work practices, and technical training to become an electrical and instrumentation technician.

- SkillsUSA and/or HOSA as approved cocurricular career and technical student organizations.

Start Date and Times
Starts August and January, Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Program Length: Full-time 1000 hours – approximately 9 months full-time to complete.
