Electrical and Instrumentation Tech

Description

Smurfit Westrock is seeking an experienced Electrical and Instrumentation Maintenance Technician at their Roanoke Rapids, NC mill. This position works alongside experienced mentors to perform electrical and mechanical maintenance, support continuous improvement of preventive and predictive maintenance programs, troubleshoot and repair equipment, and participate in root cause analysis and corrective actions.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• 4 years of verifiable Electrical or Instrument experience (or a combination of both)
• Good understanding of basic math for electrical/electronics
• Manufacturing and/or Mill experience strongly preferred
• Working knowledge of computer programs using Windows based operating systems
• Must be able to demonstrate the ability to identify voltage levels with the use of digital multi-meters
• Two-year technical degree, registered apprenticeship, or equivalent formal training desired
• Willing to work a rotating shift
• Scheduled and unscheduled overtime as needed
• Ability to work weekends/holidays and in varying conditions (heat, noise, indoor/outdoor)
