About the role

Our E/I Technicians are responsible for installation, calibration, operation, maintenance, and repair of various instrumentation devices and electrical equipment in a heavy industrial environment, including:

• Control systems, transformers, and motor control centers
• Valves, controllers, transmitters, positioners, PLCs, pneumatic, electronic, and hydraulic lines
• Motors, motor starters, motor controllers, inverters, electrical switchgear, lighting, and all electrical circuits from DC up to and including 4160V
• Basic calibration of instruments on process and utility equipment
• Basic troubleshooting and repair of process controllers, plant equipment, and laboratory instruments
• Configuration and repair of microprocessor-based instruments and controllers utilizing available instructions and manuals
• Ensuring calibration paperwork, instrument files, electrical files, E&I drawings, and work order documentation is complete with accurate information

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to pass an aptitude test in industrial Electrical/Instrumentation functions and complete a training program
• Two years of electrical or electrician experience in manufacturing or industrial environment
• Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills

Qualifications (Preferred)

• Technical degree, certification, or equivalent
