Electric Service Worker, 1st Class - Springfield, VA

About the role

The Springfield office of Dominion Energy is recruiting for Electric Service Worker, 1st Class positions. There are two openings available.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintenance of both overhead and underground electrical distribution lines
• First responder to power outages
• Closely work with the Regional Operations Centers within the Dominion service territory
• Work alone 90% of the time
• Work a rotating shift
• Available for call-outs during outages and/or storm restoration events
• Eligible for premium pay for applicable overtime hours

Requirements

• A minimum of 3 (three) years' experience in overhead and underground electrical line work
• A solid understanding of industrial electrical distribution systems and maintenance techniques
• A knowledge of safety processes and practices within the industrial electrical distribution industry
• Strong communications skills, both verbal and written
• A familiarity with the industry's 3-way communication method
• A self-starter capable of working alone 90% of the time while still being part of a local team
• The ability to meet and maintain applicable NERC/FERC requirements

Qualifications/Additional Qualifications

• Must be able to lift 75 lbs
• Must have a valid Class A CDL by the end of the 5th month of employment
• Call out, overtime availability, and ability to work rotating shifts are required
• Weight restrictions apply due to safety reasons, must maintain a weight below 290 pounds

Benefits

The starting rate for this position is $51.91 / hour for fully qualified applicants, including a 10% wage supplement for reporting to the Springfield Office.
