Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and diagnose complex level operational failures of generator sets, related equipment or industrial engines
  • Use medium voltage and/or reactive load bank equipment for the testing and repairs of generators
  • Perform megger, vibration, stack and span gas testing as required
  • Install and commission large genset units with complex ATS
  • Perform heavy electrical repairs, alignments, and engine overhaul, generator or component repairs
  • Determine corrective action through the inspection of failed parts
  • Order replacement parts and services in a manner that promotes efficiency and effectiveness
  • Prepare parts returns, accurate and complete service reports, and other necessary reports and forms
  • Clearly and concisely document all work and repairs completed in a timely manner
  • Maintain work area, tools and equipment to promote a clean and safe environment
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Minimum of three years relevant Electrical Power Generation (EPG)/electronics field experience required to be eligible for the $10,000 sign-on bonus
  • Candidates with less than 3 years Electrical Power Generation (EPG)/electronics field experience are eligible for a $2,000 sign-on bonus
  • Bonuses are made in 2 equal installments at 90 days and 180 days of employment

Qualifications

  • Minimum three years’ experience diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing complex issues and performing heavy electrical repairs to electrical generator systems and related equipment
  • Experience performing megger and vibration testing and genset alignment
  • Experience installing and commissioning gensets
  • High school diploma or GED, required
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Excellent driving record and the ability to obtain a CDL and/or DOT certification
  • Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills
  • Excellent mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to interact professionally with customers and all of levels of personnel within the organization
  • Strong communicator with excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-directed and well organized
  • Willingness to work additional hours as required and travel out of town, including out of the country to meet customers’ demands
  • Proficiency in the use of technical software, databases and manuals

Skills

  • Technical skills in electrical generator systems and related equipment
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair complex issues
  • Knowledge of megger and vibration testing
  • Experience with load bank equipment
  • Ability to perform heavy electrical repairs and alignments
  • Strong communication and documentation skills

Starting Compensation Range: $35.32 - $50.91 per hour
