Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Research and analyze customer problems to diagnose and resolve desktop hardware and software problems.
- Apply systematic techniques to isolate and correct problems.
- Analyze current customer configuration and migrate as needed.
- Install, configure, and maintain software and hardware and then verify the correct installation and configuration.
- Troubleshoot in-person, by telephone, or via email in a timely and accurate fashion to provide end-user assistance and repair hardware and network connectivity issues.
- Monitor problem resolution and ensure satisfactory and timely completion.
- Participate with teams and departments to offer analytical and technical support to Management Information Services.
- Evaluate, create, and implement procedures and technical solutions to aid in problem-solving and deployments.
- Remove old equipment as needed and perform data migration to new machines.
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot VPN and dial-up network connections to remote customers such as managers, vendors, and council.
- Contact vendors, research products via the Internet, and evaluate costs and suitability to project/request.
Minimum Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED with six months/one year of advanced training in related information technology support.
- 2-4 years related experience.
- Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
Preferred Qualifications
- Education/Experience: Associate’s degree.
- 4-6 years experience with the configuration and installation of computer hardware/software and in problem resolution.
- Microsoft Certified Professional Knowledge, Skills & Abilities.
