Electric Motor Winder – Day & Swing Shift Available
About the role
Energy Management Corporation (EMC) is looking for a hands-on Electric Motor Winder to join our Salt Lake City shop. This is real shop work—no shortcuts, no fluff.
Responsibilities
- Tear down, inspect, and rewind AC/DC electric motors and electro-mechanical equipment
- Prep motors for rewind: strip, clean, burn out, and rebuild
- Wind coils, cut and form wire, and install insulation systems
- Run and operate shop equipment (winding machines, surge testers, ovens, grinders, etc.)
- Auxiliary tasks: assist experienced winders and help test and troubleshoot finished motors
- Read job cards, follow specs, and hit quality standards every time
- Keep work area clean, organized, and safe
- Handle heavy components and get the job done right
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in motor winding or electrical/mechanical repair (or strong apprenticeship background)
- Solid mechanical ability—you know your way around tools and equipment
- Basic understanding of motor components and electrical theory
- Can read schematics and follow technical instructions
- Experience with measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, dial indicators)
- Willing to learn, work hard, and take pride in your craft
- Team player who shows up ready to work
Physical Work
- Lifting up to 50 lbs regularly
- Standing, reaching, and moving equipment
