Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize electric motors using simulation tools (FEA/CFD).
- Perform reverse engineering, including teardown, dimensional analysis, material identification, winding analysis, and magnetic circuit evaluation.
- Create detailed CAD models, drawings, and manufacturing documentation.
- Develop performance specifications and validation test plans, conducting tests to evaluate efficiency, torque, speed, thermal, vibration, and noise.
- Work closely with manufacturing for design for manufacturability, support prototyping, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.
- Evaluate competitor products, recommend improvements, and ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Lead programs through production launch, including supplier selection and qualification.
- Develop validation methodologies to correlate simulations with physical tests.
Qualifications
- Include Bachelor’s or Master’s in Electrical or Electromechanical Engineering.
- 7+ years of experience in electric motor design, including successful platform development or redesign and launch into production.
- Strong knowledge of electromagnetic theory, motor design principles, and simulation tools.
- Proficiency with CAD software (SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor).
- Hands-on experience with motor teardown and reverse engineering.
- Understanding of winding techniques, lamination stacks, magnets, insulation systems, and manufacturing processes.
- Ability to interpret and produce detailed engineering drawings.
