Work Schedule: Monday to Friday 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M.

Typical Tasks

• Greeting and directing the public
• Processing applications (SAWS 1) for General Assistance (GA) and Food Stamps
• Gather client information using the MEDS, CDS, and Cal-WIN computer systems
• Schedule and reschedule clients for GA activities
• Issue verification receipts
• Prepare GA packets
• Mail out CAPl material
• Answer the telephone
• Photocopy documents
• Back up fingerprinting and clerical duties associated with GA Orientation
• Backup CAlWORKs reception when necessary

Minimum Qualifications

• The ability to type at a speed of not less than 40 words per minute from clear manuscript or printed or typewritten copy.
• Experience: Three years of full-time or its equivalent responsible clerical experience, at least six months of which must have been at the Experience clerical level in Contra Costa County.
