Electric Distribution Program Manager - Richmond, VA
Job Summary
This role includes dual responsibility for developing and managing programs to support the organization's strategic direction, with a specialized focus on leveraging AI to enhance Electric Distribution workflows and productivity. The Program Manager will create and manage long-term goals, budgets, operating plans, and business cases to achieve prescribed programmatic objectives, including the deployment of AI-powered solutions to support productivity, knowledge transfer, and technical and engineering analysis.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience
- 7-8+ years related electric utility industry and/or Generative AI experience.
- Prior experience in both team and process management.
- Strong leadership, organizational, resolution management, and team building skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to identify and assess risks and opportunities.
- Strong understanding of Generative AI principles, transformer architectures, and attention mechanisms.
- Familiarity with cloud-based ML platforms (Azure ML, AWS SageMaker, GCP Vertex AI, etc.).
- Awareness of data privacy regulations and secure handling of sensitive utility data.
- Ability to build user-friendly interfaces for engineering and field staff (Power BI, Power Apps).
- Experience with version control (Git), agile development methodologies, and collaborative coding environments.
- Strong communication skills to explain AI concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work with engineers, analysts, and field crews to gather feedback and iterate on solutions.
Minimum Education Required
High School/GED
