ELECT NEURO TECH II

About the role

Independently performs neurodiagnostic procedures including routine and long-term electroencephalograms (EEGs) and all modalities of evoked potential procedures under their scope of practice.

Responsibilities

• Knowledgeable in correct EEG, long-term monitoring (LTM), continuous (CEEG)/ICU monitoring, and evoked potential (EP) performance and recognition of clinically significant events.
• Follows the facility’s policy and procedures.
• Exercises professional judgement in the performance of exams.
• Communicates effectively with the neurologist and other staff members.
• May have on call responsibilities.

Requirements

• Education: High School completion / GED, Associate degree.
• Licensure/Certification/Registration: CPR Certification required, R.EEG.T registry preferred, R.EP.T registry preferred, C.LTM registry preferred, CNIM registry preferred.
• Experience: No prior job-related work experience, 1-3 years of experience in Electroencepholagrams (EEG) and Evoked Potentials (EP).

Qualifications

• Knowledge: Electrode application, pattern recognition, correlates patient history and clinical symptoms, neuroanatomy and neurophysiology, proficient in Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
