Responsibilities
- Providing compassionate and comprehensive legal counsel to clients on matters related to elder law, including Medicaid planning, estate planning, and powers of attorney.
- Representing clients in court proceedings, administrative hearings, and mediations.
- Preparing and reviewing legal documents such as wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and healthcare directives.
- Conducting legal research and analysis to stay abreast of current laws and regulations related to elder law.
- Collaborating with other team members to develop and implement effective legal strategies.
- Educating clients and their families on their rights and responsibilities, as well as the potential legal implications of their decisions.
- Participating in community outreach events to promote our firm’s services and to educate the public about elder law issues.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
- Current membership in good standing with the State Bar.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in elder law, including experience with Medicaid planning, estate planning, and powers of attorney.
- Proven ability to represent clients in court proceedings, administrative hearings, and mediations.
- Excellent legal research and writing skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with clients and their families.
- Demonstrated commitment to serving the needs of seniors and their families.
- Ability to handle sensitive issues with discretion and professionalism.
