EKG Technician

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA) required
• EKG certification preferred

Essential Functions

• Accurately records EKGs and rhythm strips on inpatients and outpatients within 30 minutes of all requests
• Reviews findings from each electrode position for chart records for deviation from normal at time of EKG
• Ensures findings are timely and accurate
• Accurately monitors EKG readings
• Records all EKGs daily in department log and EKG management system
• Applies Holter Monitors/Signal Average EKGs accurately
• Applies knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served
• Affords assessments data reflective of each patient's status and interprets information needed to identify each patient's age-specific health care needs
• Maintains proper maintenance of all equipment and machines
• Appropriately maintains patient records by technician
• Demonstrates awareness of safety, security, life safety, emergency preparedness, and utility and equipment management policies

Pay Range: $20.11 - $28.67 per hour
