About the role

The Eighth College Operations and Programs Analyst (OPA) performs a wide range of duties that require confidentiality, discretion, tact, diplomacy, sound judgment, analytical, and decision-making skills. Duties include, but are not limited to, comprehensive, high-level administrative support to the Provost as well as day-to-day operational management of Eighth College.

Responsibilities

  • Comprehensive, high-level administrative support to the Provost
  • Day-to-day operational management of Eighth College
  • Serves as the direct link between Eighth College and the Undergraduate Colleges Business Office (UCBO)
  • Supports the planning and execution of select College events such as commencement, faculty seminars, and recognition events
  • Coordinates special projects which may include organizational research, analysis, documentation, logistics, design, correspondence, and preparation of presentation materials
  • Serves as on-site safety and facility coordinator
  • Manages a high volume of communications and information
  • Serves as a key representative of the Provost within the UC San Diego community and beyond
  • Serves a critical role in supporting the College's community-engaged mission, careful fiscal management, communication strategies, and coordination across complex teams of students, staff, faculty, and community partners

Qualifications

  • Ability to use sound judgment in responding to issues and concerns
  • Ability to use independent judgment and initiative, to analyze complex situations and to develop multiple choices and recommendations
  • Excellent problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with all levels of staff verbally and in writing
  • Proven experience with successful event planning and organization of special events
  • Proven skills to handle logistics from a wide variety of special events such as lectures, seminars, workshops, convocations, and commencement
  • Organizational skills and ability to multi-task with demanding timeframes
  • Working knowledge of common organization-specific and other computer application programs
  • Knowledge of or ability to quickly learn higher education organizational structures, academic programs, and administrative operations

  • Demonstrated ability to align operational and program activities with a mission focused on community-rooted education, research, and outreach

Special Conditions

  • Job offer is contingent upon satisfactory clearance based on Background Check results
  • Overtime required for special events

Pay

Annual Full Pay Range: $71,806 - $110,977 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hiring Pay Scale: $71,806.32 - $74,666.88 / Year
