About the role
We are seeking Level 2 Designers with Oil & Gas Facility Electrical and Instrumentation design experience. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of experience preparing drawings and documentation in the oil and gas industry and must be proficient in AutoCAD. Experience with an engineering consulting firm is highly desirable. This role can be based out of any TRC office in the US.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and drafting of electrical and instrumentation systems for Oil & Gas facilities using AutoCAD software.
- Work closely with Engineers and Project Managers to ensure designs meet project specifications and requirements.
- Develop detailed technical drawings, schematics, and specifications for electrical and instrumentation systems, including:
- Power distribution
- Lighting
- Motor control
- Communications
- Heat tracing
- Grounding systems
- Instrument plans
- Circuit schedules
- Instrument loop drawings
- Perform calculations and analysis to ensure designs are safe, efficient, and meet all industry standards, including sizing conduit and cable/wiring.
- Review and interpret technical data and project specifications to ensure designs meet all requirements.
- Mentor and train junior designers in design techniques, standards, and procedures.
- Perform field inspections and provide support during construction and commissioning activities.
- Collaborate with other technical personnel to ensure project timelines and budgets are met.
Requirements
- A two-year associate degree.
- 3+ years of experience using AutoCAD software for electrical and instrumentation design.
- Expertise in relevant codes, standards, and regulations for the Oil & Gas industry.
- Advanced ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
- In-depth knowledge of instrumentation and electrical equipment commonly used in Oil & Gas facilities.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lead a team and work collaboratively with other departments and stakeholders.
- Proven ability to deliver high-quality designs on-time and within budget.

Pay
Salary range: USD $43.47 - USD $50.00 per hour.
Eligibility for participation in the Company’s annual Discretionary Bonus Program, contingent on company, business segment, and individual performance.
