EHS Technician III - B Shift or C-Shift

This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which includes Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. As part of the Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance team, you will monitor and assess processes guiding Blue Origin’s design, manufacturing, and operations to ensure system safety engineering, environmental health, and safety, product integrity, and continuous improvement.

About the role

As part of a diverse and hardworking team of EHS specialists, you will assist in the implementation of all Environmental, Health and Safety programs at the Florida site. Technical safety program areas include explosives, cryogenics, crane, robotics, process safety management, and radiation safety. You will oversee waste disposal and remediation, ensure local compliance auditing, execute emergency response plans, deliver safety training, assist in incident investigations, and support the development of job hazard analyses.

The selected candidate will be assigned to one of two shift configurations: B-Shift (Night), covering 6PM–6AM on a four days on/three days off rotation, or Weekend C-Shift, covering Friday through Monday, 6AM–6PM. Candidates must be fully available and committed to working either shift schedule prior to applying.

Responsibilities

• Perform duties associated with the management of hazardous and non-hazardous waste, including consolidating, labeling, inspection, and waste shipment coordination
• Conduct routine environmental and safety inspections, including storm water, SPCC, wastewater, fire extinguishers, and eyewash stations
• Participate in monthly safety walks and safety committee meetings; follow up on corrective actions
• Collect and enter data into EHS software modules
• Serve as a resource to work groups for EHS questions or issues
• Assist in incident investigations, including follow-up actions
• Assist in the review and development of Job Hazard Analyses
• Perform health and safety audits as required
• Run reports to convey information in a logical format
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Environmental Health and Safety or related field required; 3-5 years of industry-related experience preferred
• Must successfully complete RCRA and DOT training within six months for hazardous waste storage, disposal, and transportation
• Must be willing to obtain other certifications including forklift and First Aid/CPR/AED
• Must be flexible and able to work all hours, including weekends and off shifts as required
• Knowledge of applicable safety and environmental regulations
• Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws/environmental, health, and safety regulatory compliance
• Self-starter and team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong computer aptitude, including proficiency in Microsoft Office programs
• Strong self-management skills to keep on track with weekly and monthly tasks
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

• Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum
• Must be able to pass a background check to obtain a Defense Biometric Identification Card

Desired

• 5 years in aerospace industry or industrial operations
• Knowledge of U.S. Space Force safety and environmental regulations
• HAZMAT and/or emergency response team experience
