EHS Technician II
About the role
The Environmental Health and Safety Technician II supports the Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) team in implementing and maintaining various EHS programs. Assists in identifying workplace hazards, conducting inspections, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
Responsibilities
- Schedules and conducts higher level inspections of facilities, work areas and equipment.
- Maintains site conditions, practices, and procedures for compliance with health and safety requirements.
- Collaborates with other departments to promote safety and environmental awareness.
- Selects and implements corrective action and follows-up to ensure proper action has been taken.
Requirements
- Associate degree or higher, in environmental health safety or related field, discipline preferred, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Two or more years of experience as an EHS Technician or in a similar EHS role.
- Working knowledge of federal, state and local related laws and regulations.
- Solid understanding of EHS regulations and best practices.
- Experience in incident investigation and root cause analysis.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications and EHS software tools.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Qualifications
- Preferred Department of Transportation Hazardous Materials Transportation certificate (49 CFR 172.704).
- Knowledge of cGMP regulations ISO 13485, 21CFR Part 820, CMDR SOR/98-282, 93/42/EEC, RDC 16 2013, MHLW MO 169 and TG (MD) R Sch3 preferred.
