Safety is the foundation of everything we do, and we're looking for an Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Technician who shares our commitment to creating a safe, compliant, and environmentally responsible workplace. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced safety professional who is looking to expand their knowledge of environmental compliance, industrial operations, and Process Safety Management (PSM) while working alongside a collaborative operations team.
Key Responsibilities
- Cover routine inspections of production, warehouse, laboratory, and facility areas to identify hazards and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company policies.
- Identify unsafe conditions and behaviors and partner with site leadership to implement corrective actions.
- Support internal and external audits by maintaining audit-ready documentation and work areas.
- Review Hazard Identification (Hazard ID) reports and coordinate corrective action follow-up.
- Assist with documenting workplace incidents, near misses, and safety observations.
- Participate in incident investigations, including evidence collection, root cause analysis, and corrective action development.
- Monitor corrective actions through completion.
- Support Process Safety Management (PSM) initiatives, including documentation, Management of Change (MOC), action item tracking, and compliance audits.
- Coordinate and assist with new hire safety orientation and recurring safety training.
- Deliver training on PPE, hazard communication, emergency response, and general safety topics.
- Reinforce safe work practices through daily interaction with employees.
- Support Safety Committee meetings and employee engagement initiatives that encourage proactive hazard reporting.
- Maintain accurate and organized EHS records, including:
- OSHA logs and compliance documentation
- Safety inspection reports
- Training records
- Hazard ID tracking
- Safety Data Sheets (SDS)
- Regulatory reports and compliance metrics
- Prepare routine reports and maintain documentation to support regulatory compliance and internal performance reporting.
- Hazardous Materials & PPE
- Maintain chemical inventories and Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
- Support safe handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials.
- Monitor PPE inventory, compliance, and program effectiveness.
- Assist employees with proper PPE selection and usage.
- Field Safety Support
- Perform routine safety observations and facility walkthroughs.
- Coach employees on safe work practices.
- Partner with Operations and Maintenance teams to identify opportunities for risk reduction and continuous improvement.
- Continuous Improvement
- Participate in initiatives that improve safety performance and reduce workplace incidents.
- Recommend improvements to EHS programs, policies, and procedures.
- Foster a culture of accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement throughout the organization.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Three (3) or more years of Environmental, Health & Safety experience in manufacturing, industrial, chemical processing, logistics, construction, or similar environments.
- Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and workplace safety practices.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across departments.
Preferred
- Associate degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field.
- Experience supporting Process Safety Management (PSM) programs.
- Experience with Management of Change (MOC), incident investigations, corrective action tracking, and compliance audits.
- OSHA 10-Hour Certification.
- First Aid/CPR/AED Certification.
Physical Requirements
- The employee must be able to:
- Walk and stand for extended periods.
- Perform routine inspections throughout industrial facilities.
- Lift and carry light to moderate materials.
- Safely navigate manufacturing, warehouse, and outdoor work environments.
Work Environment
- This position is primarily site-based and requires work in manufacturing, warehouse, laboratory, and outdoor environments.
- Employees may be exposed to industrial equipment, chemicals, noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
- Required PPE includes safety glasses, steel-toe footwear, gloves, hard hats, and additional protective equipment as required.
