EHS Sr Specialist
Job Summary
Designs, develops, implements & oversees the organization's EHS programs and procedures to safeguard employees and surrounding communities & to ensure that all facilities are in compliance with regulations
Administers the A3 review processing; schedules, communicates, distributes lessons learned & manages distribution lists
Initiates & implements audit processes; schedules, communicates & follows up on corrective actions
Schedules & conducts cultural assessments
Greenhouse Gas overview including working with GDOTS sites to request data, prepare data, & work closely with site Quality teams & verification requests from third party
Serves as Safety Committee lead, enhances EHS training, general administration of Safety & is a member of the BCP/DR team

Essential Functions
- Outlines and implements policies or programs to educate and promote employee health and safety or environmental compliance.
- Delivers training programs educating staff on environmental concerns or health and safety risks found in the organization.
- Communicates regularly with management and administration regarding the status of environmental initiatives.
- Ensures that training records, health/safety manuals or handbooks, incident/accident reports, or other documentation are appropriately maintained.
- Tracks and documents accidents to understand causes and recommend changes to prevent future accidents.
- Maintains awareness of known health, safety, or environmental hazards, such as noise, air, or wastewater pollution levels.
- Coordinates inspection of facilities, vehicles, or equipment and processes recommending corrections or additional precautions to ensure compliance to established regulations.
- Communicates facility-specific emergency response or evacuation plans.
- Maintains a broad and current knowledge of all government and applicable industry safety regulations.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's Degree and 5-7 years' experience OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/or Experience
- Critical professional related technical skills; computer skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- Discipline/Major: Environmental Health and Safety or related discipline preferred
- Knowledge, skills & abilities: Velocity Software. EHS Software such as: Enablon or Intelex. Experience with Greenhouse Gases and sustainability. Safety best practices. Safety communications. Safety inspections. Safety investigations. Safety policies and procedures. Safety training. Inspection documentation.
