EHS Specialist

About the role

The Entry-Level EHS Specialist supports the implementation and maintenance of environmental, health and safety programs to promote a safe and compliant manufacturing workplace. This position works closely with production, maintenance, quality, and management teams to help ensure compliance with company policies and applicable regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Aid with workplace safety inspections and audits.
• Support incident investigations and help track corrective actions.
• Maintain EHS records, reports, and training documentation.
• Participate in hazard assessments and risk reduction initiatives.
• Affiliate with and administer employee safety training.
• Monitor compliance with safety procedures, PPE requirements, and housekeeping standards.
• Support environmental compliance activities, including waste management and reporting.
• Track safety metrics and prepare EHS reports.
• Participate in emergency preparedness and response activities.
• Promote a positive safety culture throughout the facility.
• Complete necessary training to gain additional knowledge and bring best practices to the factory: OSHA 10-Hour General Industry, OSHA 30-Hour General Industry, First Aid/CPR Certification, and HAZWOPER if applicable.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in occupational health and safety, industrial hygiene, environmental engineering, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of facility EHS experience preferred.
• Knowledge of USDA, BRC, FDA, and HACCP preferred.
• Certifications such as CSP, CIH, CSHM, CHMM, or other related certifications a plus.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills required.
• Strong computer abilities, such as Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, and cloud-based EHS systems preferred.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs occasionally.
• Ability to climb ladders, stairs, or other similar activities.
• Ability to wear PPE required by the facilities.

Qualifications

• Open availability to work (1st/2nd and 3rd Shift) as needed to support the factory.
• The position will be primarily on a first shift schedule that can change based on the needs of the business.

Pay

$82,586.00 - $110,114.00 a year.

Schedule

Primarily on a first shift schedule that can change based on the needs of the business.
