Summary
Reporting directly to the EHS&S Manager, the EH&S Specialist supports Cremer's health, safety, and environmental programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the EHS department to meet the company’s overall HSE and Plant goals.
- Author and approve SDS for the site, as necessary.
- Supports the EHS activities of all other departments/locations in the business as needed.
- Collections and reports all HSE EHS metrics and trending data into HSE EHS management system.
- Maintains facility records in accordance with OSHA/EPA/DOT/FRA regulations.
- Supports ISO 14001 and Responsible Care Audits as directed.
- Maintains the industrial hygiene program site(s) programs.
- Completes all training assignments as required.
- Complies with all safety and environmental objectives/programs/policies of the facility.
- Delivers/coordinates EH&S training.
- Maintain compliance with EH&S regulatory requirements and permits.
- Investigate accidents and incidents and audit nonconformances.
- Manage documented information.
- Conduct site regulatory inspections.
- Manage the contractor pre-qualification program.
- Review new chemicals and maintain Peter Cremer NA product safety data sheets.
- Meet Process Safety Management requirements.
- Participate in management of change (MOC) processes; and promote continuous improvement.
- Support efforts to implement and maintain the RC ISO14001/EHS&S management system.
- Conform with the EHS&S Policy and the Cardinal Rules.
- Maintain a safe and secure workplace and meet environmental site requirements.
- Support the EHS&S objectives and targets, and any specific action plans or management programs assigned.
- Understand the EHS&S risks and impacts of the employee’s job and functional area, including appropriate controls and procedures.
Key Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety, occupational health, environmental affairs, related field or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of experience in EHS&S, manufacturing environment.
- Self-motivated and a team player.
- High level of oral and written communication and training skills.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft office applications.
- Ability to interact with employees at all levels within the organization.
- Attention to detail.
