EHS Specialist II - Safety
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Act as site PSM coordinator, ensuring compliance with the OSHA Process Safety Management rules through management of change, process hazard analysis, documentation, etc.
- Lead and participate in incident investigation, root cause analysis, assist in the formulation of corrective actions and drive corrective actions to closure.
- Develop safety and environmental procedures and programs for site based on corporate and regulatory requirements
- Interpret, communicate and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
- Participate in recommending improvements in processes, design, procedures, and operating equipment, to minimize the hazardous potential and comply with regulatory requirement
- Develop EHS training materials and deliver both classroom and OJT safety training
- Manage various EHS programs and projects
- Develop and approve plans and permits for onsite projects
- Seek to continuously improve EHS policies and programs
Abilities
- Strong verbal and written communications skills
- Ability to coordinate complex programs
- Excellent time management and organization skills
Education & Experience
- Requires Bachelor’s degree (technical preferred)
- Requires 2-5 years experience (internship/co-op experience included) in EHS compliance or engineering with extensive experience in area of specialization
- Prefer experience in manufacturing and/or chemical processing
- Experience working at a PSM covered facility and/or with energetic materials is desired
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to be respirator certified
- Must have hand dexterity at moderate speed with accuracy for half of each day
- Requires steady, active effort and continuous walking
- Must be able to lift 15 lbs. on a regular basis
- Must be able to work in all areas of the plant
