About the Role

The EHS Manager will manage, create, implement, and continuously improve organizational programs to ensure the health and safety of the facility and its employees, and compliance with all relevant regulatory agencies (OSHA, EPA, TCEQ). This role involves implementing environmental and safety systems for a startup operation and collaborating closely with Plant Managers, Human Resource Managers, and other stakeholders to drive positive organizational change.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the company's environment, including waste management, health and safety, and fire protection.
  • Develop and maintain EHS policies, systems, procedures, and programs for environmental and safety compliance in a new operation.
  • Lead and manage a team of engineers and technicians.
  • Monitor and stay up-to-date with occupational health and safety regulations and related documents.
  • Ensure facility compliance with federal, state, and local regulations (OSHA, EPA, TCEQ).
  • Maintain knowledge and compliance with relevant legislation and requirements, preparing conditions for compliance in case of changes.
  • Ensure operations align with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 systems, actively participating in audits.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate physical, chemical, and operational hazards.
  • Supervise and coordinate official license procedures.
  • Prepare annual reports and coordinate periodic fire safety and lifting-equipment inspections.
  • Investigate incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective measures.
  • Prepare and implement annual accident prevention, fire prevention, health protection, and environmental protection plans.
  • Check occupational safety compliance and the use of work tools, machines, and equipment, conducting commissioning procedures.
  • Collaborate effectively with other departments.

Requirements

  • Advanced degree in safety, fire safety, environment, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in EHS.
  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations (OSHA, EPA, TCEQ).
  • Experience processing OSHA Form 300A (Annual Summary).
  • Strong knowledge and experience with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001.
  • Experience in waste management and disposal.
  • Experience in risk management.
  • Experience managing people.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Auditor certification (ISO 14001:2015 / ISO 45001:2018).
  • Experience dealing with government agencies.
  • Project startup experience.

This is a manufacturing environment operating 24/7. Consistent presence on the floor is required; this is not a desk position.
