EHS Manager

About the role

The EHS Manager manages and directs the plant's safety, health and environmental programs. They provide professional leadership and direction for the plant by using industry best practices.

Responsibilities

• Provides professional leadership and direction for the plant by using industry best practices.
• Ensures compliance of safety, health and environmental programs, and coordinates between operations, support groups, and senior leadership.
• Embraces a strong commitment to safety as a core value and ensures compliance with all applicable Federal/State Regulations and US Silica EHS practices and procedures.
• Effective and organized record-keeping of all personnel training files, prepares and submits MSHA reports, ensures contractor compliance with USS requirements, prepares and submits state regulatory reports, ensures compliance with all relevant permit parameters and requirements.
• Works with a minimal amount of supervision and works approximately 60 percent of the time out in the plant environment.
• Works closely with all levels of the plant and corporate organizations and needs to work before internal and external groups.
• Requires some travel and a flexible work schedule.
• Must be able to respond effectively to emergency situations.

Qualifications

• Competent and capable of being a competent and capable backfill to the other positions in a reasonable amount of time.
• Cross trained with the other site managers once fully trained in essential job duties/functions.
