EHS Manager
About the role
SkyWater is seeking an EHS Manager to refine and oversee the performance and growth of EHS Programs at SkyWater Texas, with emphasis on Health and Safety. The EHS Manager will ensure compliance with state and federal legislation and manage critical relationships and permits with regulatory agencies.
Responsibilities
- Implement Health and Safety (ISO45001) Management Systems at the facility
- Oversee the development, planning, and implementation of the EHS Management System, including policies, business processes, and prevention initiatives
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations pertaining to environmental, health, and safety, and handle all contact with appropriate agencies
- Establish measurement and routine business reporting of EHS objectives, goals, strategies, and key performance indices in conjunction with affected business groups
- Manage corporate and site-level environmental health and safety teams, including the Emergency Response Team (ERT)
- Provide site-level representation with third parties, including neighboring businesses, local councils, and regulatory bodies, including OSHA and environmental agencies
- Oversee Health and Safety operations in Texas to promote a culture of safety
Qualifications
The minimum qualifications for this role include:
- EHS experience in a chemically intensive manufacturing industry
- 5+ years of experience in managing EHS programs
- Technical experience in occupational health and safety with a strong emphasis on chemical safety/compatibility
- Ability to apply EHS and regulatory knowledge to business decisions, including the development of implementation plans for applicable requirements
- Strong ability to negotiate and manage effective change relative to EHS aspects associated with people changes, equipment, and process changes
- Ability to build, motivate, and lead cross-functional teams to meet project objectives, with a focus on measurable results
- Knowledge of environmental, health, and safety regulations and industry EHS-related standards
- Strong computer literacy skills, including mastery of Microsoft suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Preferred qualifications include a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Science or Engineering, CIH, CSP, OHST, GSP, or other certifications, and experience with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 program development.
