About the role
Eaton’s Electrical Sector is currently seeking a Manager, Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) to join our team. This position is based at our Richmond, VA facility. Relocation assistance available within the US.
Responsibilities
- Champion and lead zero-incident EHS culture throughout the assigned locations by developing, maintaining and communicating EHS targets, proactive safety management, and leading strategic EHS initiatives / projects
- Lead and guide elements of the implementation of MESH (Management System of Environmental, Safety, Security and Health) via team leadership, program management and coaching to drive improvements
- Enable data-driven safety decision making, data management and analysis through available tools such as MESH PRISM and Benchmark to improve incidents, injuries and illnesses, environmental impact, risk assessments, and other EHS related actions
- Foster employee and leader engagement through safety teams, training, training programs, project management, communications, and other employee facing activities
- Provide clarity and closure for all open EHS incidents (injuries, incidents, spills, property damage & near misses, etc.) through diligent investigations, leadership reporting, system tracking / entry, appropriate remediation and closure actions
- Act as site point of contact for federal, state, and local inspections pertaining to EHS, and ensures compliance with permits and other safety and environmental concerns
- Ensure effective internal and external compliance management via audits, compliance activities, permitting, documentation, and other regulatory requirements
- Develop EHS competency through direct report(s)
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited educational institution
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in safety, environmental or health role within a manufacturing environment
- Experience in environmental, health and safety program management and/or employee EHS training. Preference for manufacturing experience
- Experience in electrical safety or supporting employees working in a live electrical environment
- Professional certifications: Certified Safety Professional, Certified Industrial Hygienist, Certified Hazardous Materials Manager, or country equivalent where available
- First aid / CPR / AED certifications
