The Position
The Position
OVE, a Congruex company is a rapidly expanding company seeking a EHS Manager to support the team. The EHS Manager will serve as the cognizant expert in matters relating to HSE and shall have the authority to stop work activity in the event of imminent danger to the health and safety of workers, the public, or the environment. The Safety Manager will ensure understanding and compliance with the HSE Department, client, local, state, and federal government health, safety, and environmental regulations and requirements.
Job Responsibilities (Including, but not limited to)
- Administer and manage a comprehensive HSE training and program compliance to promote and ensure safe work practices, conditions and worker activities of CNS subcontractor, sub-tiered subcontractor employees;
- Integrate our company HSE policies with the client’s HSE programs;
- Support all HSE efforts for CNS and promote Congruex Safety culture.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- General: 5-10 years in an HSE manager position; 2-3 years in the role of HSE trainer for the Industrial Construction industry; Minimum of 3 years of experience and knowledge in underground utility construction; Professional knowledge of federal standards (OSHA 29 CFR 1910 / 29 CFR 1926, EPA, DOT) for Industrial Construction and Operations environments; Knowledge of and/or ability to research the Federal, State and Local safety and environmental regulations and their applications to the facilities;
- Technical: Possesses interpersonal skills in order to work effectively with individuals both internally and externally; Possesses the ability to use various personal computers including spreadsheet, word processing, database, and graphics software; Possesses the ability to analyze problems and make independent judgment to initiate corrective action or resolution; Ability to function in an outside and inside industrial environment including stairs, ladders, heights, areas of limited access and rough ground; Ability to work overtime or occasionally on weekends with short notice; Typical Construction/Plant/Manufacturing environment; Additional training / experience in trench and excavation, shoring, confined space, traffic control and DOT compliance.
