EHS Manager

PURPOSE

Making things is what we do at Baltimore Aircoil Company (BAC). We take care of our people, our machines, and our planet. Our goal is to keep everyone safe and healthy while doing our work. As part of our team, you'll help us make sure we follow all the rules about keeping our workplace safe.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Make sure we have clear rules for keeping our workplace safe. We'll check everything from how we use machines to how we handle chemicals.

• Help us figure out what happened if something goes wrong. We'll talk to everyone involved and make sure they learn from it.

• Teach everyone how to stay safe and follow the rules. We'll show them how to use safety gear and how to avoid getting hurt.

• Look around the factory to see if there's anything that could cause problems. If we find something, we'll tell the right people and make sure they fix it.

• Show how well we're doing with safety. We'll tell the bosses how we're doing and ask for help if we need it.

• Help us think of ways to make our factory even safer. We'll look at new machines and see if they might cause problems.

• Make sure we're following all the rules about keeping the air and water clean. We'll get the papers we need to do that and tell everyone about it.

• Work with other places to make sure we're doing a good job. We'll share ideas and try to make things better.

• Help us keep the environment clean. We'll count how much water we use and how much trash we make. We'll try to make less pollution too.

• Make sure we're following all the rules about safety and the environment. We'll get the papers we need and tell everyone about it.

• Work with the government to make sure we're doing a good job. We'll answer questions and show them what we're doing.

• Be a good helper. We'll work with everyone and help them understand why safety is important.

• Do some extra work when needed. We might have to work nights or weekends sometimes.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

• A college degree in something like safety or science. That's nice, but not always needed.

• At least 5 years of work making sure people and the environment are safe. That's a lot of time!

• Knows all the rules about keeping people safe at work. Like how to stop dangerous machines and how to protect your ears and lungs.

• Knows all the rules about keeping the air and water clean. Like how to get special papers to say you're okay and how to report what you're doing.

• Can lead a team and make plans. You can organize people and make sure they do a good job.

• Can think about problems and solve them. You can look at a situation and figure out what to do next.

• Can be happy even when things are hard. You can stay calm and work hard even when you're tired.

• Can make friends and get people to work together. You can talk to people and make them want to do a good job.

• Can write and talk clearly. You can explain things to people and make sure they understand.

• Uses computers to help with work. You can use Word, Excel, and Powerpoint to make things easier.

NATURE & SCOPE

This job is for someone who helps run a big factory. They work with the boss and other workers to make sure everyone stays safe and healthy. They might have to work nights or weekends sometimes.

WORKING CONDITIONS

• The job is in a factory. It can be noisy and dirty.

• People usually work 8 hours a day, 5 days a week.

• People might have to carry things that weigh up to 25 pounds.

• People might have to work in different parts of the factory.
