About the role
The EHS Generalist plays a crucial role in ensuring a safe and compliant workplace. Reporting to the VP, EHS, this position is based at the Haws manufacturing facility in Reno, NV.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement EHS programs to maintain a safe working environment and comply with regulations.
- Input and track incident reports, including OSHA recordable incidents, into Gensuite.
- Conduct worker risk assessments and root cause analysis for incidents and accidents.
- Identify and address EHS training needs, conduct training, and maintain the training database.
- Support the safety committee with goal setting and objective tracking.
- Provide guidance on incident reporting and near-miss forms.
- Conduct ergonomic analyses and implement risk reduction measures.
- Deliver training across various EHS programs, including new hire orientation and specialized training.
- Prepare and submit recertification of environmental permits.
- Coordinate and conduct quarterly safety training sessions for all employees.
- Perform layered 5S and safety audits on the shop floor.
- Provide administrative support for state and federal audits.
- Ensure routine housekeeping adheres to environmental and safety standards.
Requirements
- Associates degree or higher in related field or 5+ years related experience/training.
- OSHA 30-hour training completed.
- First Responder certification.
- Industrial/Manufacturing EH&S experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulatory authorities (EPA, OSHA, DOT).
