Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain environmental, health, and safety policies, procedures, and programs in compliance with OSHA and local regulatory requirements.
- Serve as the Safety Officer and lead the EHS Committee, driving cross-functional involvement and a strong behavioral safety culture.
- Support facility improvements/expansions and equipment installations by conducting EHS design reviews and safety assessments in conjunction with the engineering teams.
- Conduct regular site safety audits, risk assessments, and inspections to identify and mitigate workplace hazards.
- Work closely with Johnson Controls corporate safety group to support company-wide policies, compliance, and initiatives.
- Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation to prevent future occurrences.
- Manage hazardous materials handling, storage, and disposal processes, including waste characterization and documentation.
- Deliver EHS training programs to employees and contractors to ensure a strong culture of safety and compliance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years experience driving safety in a design and manufacturing environment.
- Proven experience conducting safety audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead safety training programs and engage employees at all levels.
- Experience with EHS implementations in conjunction with facility build-outs (preferred).
