About the role
The Environmental Health and Safety Director will lead safety initiatives, develop and enforce policies, and ensure compliance with regulations.
Responsibilities
- Directs and coordinates safety operations
- Develops and enforces safety policies and procedures
- Identifies and implements risk mitigation strategies
- Provides guidance and support to employees on safety matters
- Conducts safety inspections and audits
- Investigates accidents and near misses
- Stays informed about safety trends and regulations
- Maintains safety records and documentation
- Collaborates with project teams on safety integration
- Prepares for and leads incident response activities
- Represents the company in safety audits and regulatory interactions
- Reviews and recommends safety improvements
- Prepares for ISO 9001 and other audits
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety or related field
- 5+ years of safety management and leadership experience in power or oil and gas industries
- Valid qualification in occupational health and safety
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Master’s degree in occupational health and safety or related field preferred
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification preferred
Qualifications
- Work authorization to work in the USA
