EHS Coordinator
About the role
Novelis Oswego has an exciting opportunity for an Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Coordinator. The EHS Coordinator will assist in the development and implementation of safety/occupational health controls, policies, and procedures to achieve and maintain full compliance with regulatory, permit, or license requirements in the specific areas of Occupational Health & Safety. The incumbent will support the company purpose, Shaping a Sustainable World Together.
Responsibilities
- Recognize, evaluate, and control employee exposures to industrial risks through the active facilitation of the site's Safety Programs and Policies.
- Make daily decisions that directly impact the organization’s ability to maintain governmental compliance and prevent employee injuries and illnesses.
- Guide facility security services and act as the liaison between them and the facility.
- Maintain site safety and health programs, provide technical mentorship, and recommend improvements for overall efficiency.

- Adhere to and support company quality, environmental, health & safety, and certification standards, including ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, ISO 45001:2018, IATF 16949:2016, and ASI Certifications, where applicable.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in a scientific field.
- 1-2 years of meaningful experience with health and safety programs and associated regulations.
- Ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.
- Flexibility to operate in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple tasks, and prioritize work.
- Proficiency in software applications, including Microsoft Office, and ability to quickly learn new technology.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous manufacturing experience.

Pay
This role’s salary starts from $76,600 per year. Individual pay will vary based on qualifications, experience, and performance. In addition to base salary, this position includes participation in a short-term incentive plan (Annual Incentive Plan - AIP or Plant Performance Incentive - PPI).
About the location
Novelis Oswego is located in northern Central New York on the shores of Lake Ontario and employs approximately 1,200 people. The Oswego plant produces over one billion pounds of high-quality aluminum sheet annually, serving customers in the automotive, beverage can, and specialty markets.
The surrounding area offers a downtown shopping and dining district, renowned fishing, hiking, snowmobiling, and outdoor recreation across all four seasons.
