Responsibilities
- Support and implement continuous improvement initiatives such as 5S, visual management, and standard operating procedure (SOP) development.
- Identify opportunities to improve operational processes, standardization, and overall efficiency across the manufacturing environment.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to plan, execute, and follow through on continuous improvement projects.
- Provide administrative and project support to the Director of Operations, including reporting, scheduling, meeting coordination, and project tracking.
- Prepare and maintain documentation required for audits, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and readiness for review.
- Update and maintain training records, ensuring that operational and safety training information is current and well organized.
- Aid in processing and tracking orders as needed to support operational flow.
- Handle ad hoc administrative tasks for leadership and HR, providing responsive and reliable support.
- Maintain OSHA recordkeeping, including injury and illness logs, safety data sheet (SDS) management, and required safety postings.
- Ensure all compliance documentation is accurate, up to date, and audit-ready at all times.
- Prepare and submit required regulatory filings and reports related to EHS compliance.
- Assist with new hire safety orientation and maintain detailed training records for safety programs.
- Cook up internal safety audits and facility walkthroughs, ensuring regular review of workplace conditions.
- Document audit findings, assign corrective actions, and track completion to closure.
- Serve as a point of contact for day-to-day EHS-related questions from the production floor.
- Escalate safety or compliance concerns promptly and appropriately to leadership.
Requirements
- 2–5 years of experience in an operational or administrative role, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
- 2–5 years of experience in safety or EHS coordination, with exposure to environmental health and safety practices.
- Hands-on experience working in a manufacturing setting and familiarity with production floor operations.
- Demonstrated exposure to EH&S requirements, processes, and documentation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office or Google Workspace, with strong skills in Excel and document management.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to keep documentation, training records, and compliance materials well structured and accessible.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with operations leadership, HR, and production teams.
- Ability to identify process improvement opportunities and support implementation of continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required; candidates with a BA may be considered with less experience.
- Experience supporting continuous improvement methodologies such as 5S, visual management, and SOP development.
- Comfort working with cross-functional teams to drive projects and follow through on action items.
- Experience preparing, organizing, and presenting reports related to operations, audits, and safety compliance.
- Experience coordinating audits or inspections and tracking corrective actions to completion.
- Interest in safety, health, and operations, with a proactive mindset toward risk identification and mitigation.
