EH - Central Sterile Tech II

Major Responsibilities

• Performs all duties of CSS Tech I with proficiency.
• Completes 12 hours of continuing education annually as required.
• Serves as a preceptor to new staff.
• Ensures assignments are appropriate for the experience level of employees.
• Collaborates with the manager to define, implement, and enforce policies and procedures.
• Affirms compliance with regulatory standards.
• Maintains par levels of supplies daily to ensure adequate stock.
• Orders department supplies from the Storeroom as necessary.
• Completes monthly outdates/blade checks for code and specialty carts/trays.
• Reads OR schedule, recognizes and communicates turnovers.
• Prepares case carts for the Outpatient Operating Rooms, anticipating and gathering required instruments using preference cards.
• Assists with in-services for staff.
• Assists with annual competency and staff education.
• Completes other daily tasks as requested and assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• One year of experience preferred
• CRCST Certification Required
• Working knowledge of computers
