Major Responsibilities
- Provides strength and conditioning and sport specific training to teams, small groups, individuals and community groups as outlined in programs.
- Understands pre-season, in-season and post season strength and conditioning programs and sport specific criteria to maintain maximum physical conditioning for all age levels.
- Provides a comprehensive assessment and evaluation to identify overall strength, movement, screen for dysfunction and provide education in injury prevention.
- May assist in the clinic as a rehab support staff member under the direction of a therapist.
- Renders first aid when appropriate. Makes appropriate referrals to hospital, physician or other healthcare personnel.
- May participate in lectures, conferences and community events as needed.
- Collaborates with other personnel and works under the supervision of the Sports Performance Coordinator.
- Follows program guidelines and expectations as outlined.
- Maintains proper certifications and competencies.
- Attends departmental meetings and training seminars.
- Promotes and designs programs, services and works to generate leads to promote facility services and programs through marketing efforts.
- Affords assistance with record keeping and data entry.
- Performs all other duties as assigned or requested.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent
- 3 years experience
- CPR certified within 90 days of hire
- Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist within 6 months of hire
- Personal Trainer ? Certified within 6 months of hire
