Major Responsibilities

  • Provides strength and conditioning and sport specific training to teams, small groups, individuals and community groups as outlined in programs.
  • Understands pre-season, in-season and post season strength and conditioning programs and sport specific criteria to maintain maximum physical conditioning for all age levels.
  • Provides a comprehensive assessment and evaluation to identify overall strength, movement, screen for dysfunction and provide education in injury prevention.
  • May assist in the clinic as a rehab support staff member under the direction of a therapist.
  • Renders first aid when appropriate. Makes appropriate referrals to hospital, physician or other healthcare personnel.
  • May participate in lectures, conferences and community events as needed.
  • Collaborates with other personnel and works under the supervision of the Sports Performance Coordinator.
  • Follows program guidelines and expectations as outlined.
  • Maintains proper certifications and competencies.
  • Attends departmental meetings and training seminars.
  • Promotes and designs programs, services and works to generate leads to promote facility services and programs through marketing efforts.
  • Affords assistance with record keeping and data entry.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned or requested.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • 3 years experience
  • CPR certified within 90 days of hire
  • Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist within 6 months of hire
  • Personal Trainer ? Certified within 6 months of hire
