Egg Depot Manager

About the role

We are seeking an outstanding individual who will manage and oversee the daily operations of the egg distribution center in Elkmont, AL. This Management position will ensure that all procedures related to egg distribution and shipping are done correctly and on time. The position is also responsible for scheduling the staff, providing support where needed, and providing various reports to management. This position will report to the Vice President, Feed and Logistics.

Responsibilities

• Communicating directions, schedules, and requirements to staff
• Familiarizing oneself with the entire Depot operation and staying updated on the latest procedures
• Cooking paperwork, inventories, and personnel to ensure orders are processed accurately and promptly
• Maintaining a clean and fully operational facility
• Producing regular and/or required reports
• Ensuring compliance with bio-security, animal welfare, and safety requirements
• Responsible for departmental cost control and annual budget
• Conducting annual evaluations and appraisals of department personnel
• Some weekend work may be required, and other duties may be assigned according to the needs of the department.

Qualifications/Basic Job Requirements

• A minimum of 4 years of experience in production or hatchery procedures
• Computer application skills working with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to perform tasks with accuracy and efficiency
• Good communication, organizational skills, and interpersonal skills
• Team-oriented
• Previous management and supervisory experience is a plus
• A Bachelor's Degree in Management or Poultry Science is preferred
