About the Role
As an H-E-B eFulfillment Center Route Driver, you will drive an H-E-B vehicle to deliver and unload customer orders from the eFulfillment Center to H-E-B eStores. You'll ensure merchandise arrives safely, accurately, and on time while maintaining vehicle cleanliness and reporting maintenance issues.
Responsibilities
- Gather appropriate paperwork for deliveries; use manifest to plan the most efficient delivery route and schedule
- Complete and document vehicle inspections (e.g., pre- and post-trip)
- Ensure content, condition, and securement of cargo/product within the truck for delivery
- Deliver product to store locations accurately, safely, and on time
- Unload customer orders at store locations
- Adhere to traffic/safety laws and H-E-B policies
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness and report maintenance problems
- Return reusable items
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Requirements
- 21 years or older
- Excellent driving record with no suspended/revoked licenses, permits, or privileges in any state/county
- No moving violations or preventable accidents in the past 3 years
- No DWI, DUI, or related convictions
- No felony convictions
- Pass a background screening and Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check (at time of entry and periodically)
- Ability to read and follow a road map
- Ability to work without direct supervision
- Attention to detail and strong customer service orientation
- Ability to unload delivery vehicles
- Complete required training as needed
- Valid U.S. driver’s license for 3+ years (CDL not required)
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED (preferred)
Physical Demands & Working Conditions
- Occasionally lift and carry up to 55 lbs.
- Work in varying weather and traffic conditions, including exposure to hot, wet, cold, and other weather elements
- Work extended shifts and fluctuating hours/days based on business needs, including weekends, nights, and holidays
