Expanded Functions Dental Assistant - Open Up to a Whole New Dental Experience
Expanded Functions
- Charting
- Placement of fillings
- Operatory set/clean up
- Patient education
- Performing expanded duties following state regulations and compliance
- Assisting in clinical procedures and treatment such as: placing amalgam or composite fillings, adapting temporary crowns, removing surgical sutures, and applying topical fluoride treatments
Skills Required
- Able to perform expanded duties following state regulations and compliance
- Records and reviews patient health history
- Makes chart entries under the doctor's direction
- Enters and updates patient treatment plans at the direction of the treating doctor
- CPR Certification
- Proficient in MS Office Suite
- Knowledge of dental charting software and digital x-rays with the ability to learn new programs as necessary
- EFDA Certification or on-the-job training required per state requirements
- Radiography licensure for respective state requirements
- 1-5 years of experience preferred; will consider new graduates
