Part time, 16 hours weekly.
About the role
The EEG Tech functions as a resource person to physicians and their staff, family members, and hospital staff. You will prepare patients and perform Electroencephalograms, Ambulatory EEG’s, and other tests within your scope of practice.
Responsibilities
- Functions as a resource person to physicians and their staff, family members, and hospital staff
- Prepares patients and performs Electroencephalograms, Ambulatory EEG’s, BAER’s, VEP, and other tests within scope of practice
- Edits and prepares tests for reading by a Physician
- Reports findings or concerns to reading physician for prompt interpretation
- Demonstrates customer service in all interactions, showing compassion, courtesy, friendliness, non-judgmental attitude, and respect for privacy
- Cleans and maintains equipment (EEG machine and accessories)
- Uses Hospital EMR for documentation
- Follows specific protocol for patient wires, including removal, proper cleaning, and storage
- Handles office responsibilities such as scheduling, filing, computer, and telephone tasks
- Performs other duties as directed by physician or office manager
Physical Requirements
- Requires sitting for long periods; stooping, bending, and stretching for files and supplies
- Occasionally lifts files or paper weighing up to 20 to 30 pounds
- Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, type at 40 wpm minimum, operate a calculator, telephone, copier, and other office equipment
- Vision must be correctable to 20/20 and hearing must be in the normal range for telephone contacts
- Must view and type on computer screens for long periods
- Works in an environment which can be very stressful
- Auditory acuity to hear others for fluent communication
- Physical strength to perform the following lifting demands:
- Floor to Knuckle: 20 lbs
- 12” to Knuckle: 30 lbs
- Knuckle to Shoulder: 20 lbs
- Shoulder to Overhead: 10 lbs
- Carry 14 ft: 30 lbs
- Push 25 ft: 10 ft/lbs
- Pull 10 ft: 10 ft/lbs
Schedule
Will work 8-hour shifts unless other arrangements are made with the Director.
Reporting Relationship
Reports to Office Manager and Director.
