Location: Hollywood, Florida

About the role

Performs electroencephalograph (EEG) testing. Includes rotating weekends. Someone with EMU and LTM monitoring experience highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Attaches and connects electrodes on the head from EEG machine.
  • Performs prescribed testing.
  • Reviews patient's history and educates patient about procedure.
  • Monitors and documents patient's condition and responds to and reports any seizure symptoms.
  • Identifies and corrects artifacts.
  • Edits and forwards results to attending physician for analysis and interpretation.
  • Performs long-term video EEG monitoring on patients, demonstrating proficiency in the International 10-20 system.
  • Performs job functions following the Guidelines for EEG and Long Term Neuro-Diagnostic Monitoring in Epilepsy as set by the American Society of Electro-Neuro-Diagnostic Technologists.
  • Performs data retrieval and reduction operations and video EEG recordings prepared in a form suitable for interpretation by the physician.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required)
  • Requires critical thinking skills, effective communication skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
  • No prior work experience required.
  • ABRET Registry Eligible
  • Graduate of or enrolled in an Electro-neuro-diagnostic technology program accredited by Commission Accreditation on Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or a clinically equivalent program (i.e., hospital-based program).
