EduDesign Project Lead (Temporary)
About the role
The College of Education has an outstanding opportunity for a temporary 50% FTE, EduDesign Project Lead to join their team for a twelve-month position. Reporting to Associate Professor, Dr. Carly Roberts, the Project Lead will be the primary operational lead between EduDesign participants, teacher leaders, and collaborating College of Education faculty and staff, and is responsible for advancing the planning, coordination, implementation, and continuous improvement of EduDesign programming.
Key Responsibilities
Program Leadership and Operations - 30%
Provide primary leadership for the day-to-day operations of EduDesign and related functions.
Oversee planning, implementation, communications, and logistics to ensure successful delivery of EduDesign activities and events.
Develop and maintain program workflows, timelines, and operational processes to support current and future EduDesign implementation.
Identify issues, troubleshoot challenges, and recommend solutions and process improvements to strengthen program effectiveness.
Serve as a key point of contact for EduDesign participants, alumni, teacher leaders, and College of Education partners.Communication and Coordination - 20%
Oversee EduDesign communications, including the EduDesign email and listserv, to ensure timely and effective communication with participants and alumni.
Collaborate with UW College of Education staff, faculty, teacher leaders, and participants, coordinate the development and dissemination of EduDesign communications.
Interface with teacher participants and leaders and the CoE staff and faculty team
Manage scheduling, calendar coordination, and event communications, including distribution of event details, expectations, locations, parking, and commuting information.
Maintain and organize shared program files, folders, and documentation across appropriate internal (SharePoint) and external platforms (Google drive).EduPod Planning and Implementation - 20%
Lead planning and implementation of EduDesign events in collaboration with College of Education leadership and partners, including but not limited to fall EduPod launch activities, community-building events, and spring EduPod and community celebration events.
Coordinate event logistics and ensure effective on-site or virtual event execution, including set-up, coordination, and follow-up.
Collaborate with faculty and staff to develop presentations, slides, and other materials needed for program events and meetings.
Facilitate and/or support meetings with EduDesign and College of Education leadership as needed.EduPod Planning and Implementation - 20%
In collaboration with College of Education staff and teacher leaders, oversee planning and implementation of EduPods for the 2026–27 school year.
Work closely with EduPod leaders and participants to address questions, support curriculum development, and strengthen implementation of program activities.
This includes addressing issues of professional learning curriculum development and implementation.
Coordinate with relevant campus and community partners, including ConnectEd, HR, fiscal, and other college-wide professional learning efforts, as appropriate.Budget and Administrative Oversight - 10%
In collaboration with the CoE faculty director, oversee and make decisions related to relevant budget and administrative management.
Communicate, collaborate, and work in partnership with CoE faculty, CoE development, and CoE fiscal team members regarding EduDesign budget management, including the Deborah Massachi Memorial Fund and other relevant funding sources (e.g., Ackerley, Boeing Endowment)
Manage routine budget-related processes, including documentation and submission of required materials such as receipts, hours, and other fiscal records through the College’s financial systems (TREQ) in a timely manner.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree and at least one year of experience participating in EduDesign
Experience supporting and collaborating with in-service and/or preservice teachers in a professional learning setting
Experience working in collaborative team environments
Flexible work format but ability to attend required occasional events and facilitation on weekend and evenings in the Seattle area
Experience coordinating, organizing, and managing the logistics of in-person, online, and hybrid events
Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment, solve problems and implement process improvements
Demonstrated ability to build effective working relationships with faculty, staff and EduDesign participants
Shared commitment to the goals and purpose of EduDesign
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree and/or teacher certification/credential/license
Experience in program leadership, professional learning or educator development
Experience managing budgets or supporting administrative operations in higher education or nonprofit settings
