Responsibilities
- Provide individualized, differentiated instruction
- Maintain a structured and predictable classroom environment
- Support both academic growth and student confidence
- Collaborate closely with a supportive, team-oriented staff
- Ensure continuity of instruction through clear planning and communication
- Foster a welcoming classroom atmosphere that encourages active participation and curiosity among students
- Manage classroom behavior effectively through positive reinforcement and clear expectations, ensuring a respectful learning environment
- Maintain detailed records of lesson plans, student progress, and behavioral observations to support ongoing development and reporting
Qualifications
- Experience working with students with learning differences (including autism preferred)
- Strong classroom management and organizational skills
- Able to provide structure while remaining flexible
- Clear, proactive communication skills
- Dependable with strong follow-through and sense of responsibility
- Teaching certification preferred. Will consider if you are in the process of obtaining your teaching certification
- Demonstrated expertise in curriculum development, lesson planning, and classroom management techniques
- Experience working with children of various needs, including special education and early intervention programs
- Knowledge of literacy education, math instruction, physical education, and childcare best practices
- Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with students, parents, colleagues, and community partners
- Passion for working with children, fostering their welfare, and promoting positive behavioral growth
