About the Role

As an Educator Recruitment Associate you will be on the front lines of the hiring process, connecting talented paraprofessionals and substitute teachers with schools that need them. You will own the full journey for applicants—qualifying them, conducting interviews, guiding onboarding, and matching them to roles that fit both their preferences and a school’s specific needs. The role is high‑activity and highly social, with most of the day spent on the phone vetting educators and placing them quickly. The team works on a hybrid model (3 days in‑office, 2 days work‑from‑home).

Responsibilities

• Qualify and interview applicants: call teachers as they sign up, assess preferences, and schedule interviews when they meet criteria.
• Conduct initial phone interviews to assess suitability for open roles, ensuring only the highest‑quality educators access the platform.
• Match candidates to the right role by building a deep understanding of each candidate’s preferences and identifying the best fit.
• Share Zen Educate’s mission and create urgency so applicants start quickly.
• Guide candidates through onboarding, helping them navigate screening and document collection, and following up diligently.
• Thrive in a fast‑paced, ever‑changing startup environment, adapting to change as needed.

Qualifications

• Applicable experience in customer service (including hospitality), recruitment, education, acting/theatre, or fast‑paced startups.
• Strong written and oral communication skills; comfortable with high‑volume daily outreach.
• Goal‑oriented and competitive, motivated by hitting and exceeding targets.
• Highly organized, independent, and self‑motivated; able to manage a large pipeline and prioritize effectively.
• Tech‑savvy: proficient with Google Suite, AI tools, and eager to adopt new technology.
• Recent graduates with a proactive mindset are encouraged to apply.

Pay

Base salary $46,600 – $52,000 per year. OTE $52,000 USD (base $46,600 + $5,400 variable).

Schedule

Full‑time, hybrid model: 3 days in the Chicago office and 2 days work‑from‑home.
