Position Details
The Educator / Child Advocate position at Mercy's Cooper-Anthony Mercy Child Advocacy Center is responsible for developing and presenting educational programs for all age levels within the service area. This role involves recordkeeping responsibilities and reporting to the Director. Under the guidance of the Mercy Child Advocacy Center Director, the advocate adheres to principles of Service Excellence and Mercy's Philosophy and Mission.

• Excellent organization and communication skills are required.
• The advocate must be able to work with various professions and have a flexible nature.
• The advocate is responsible for supporting children in court, logging information into the NCATrak database, and maintaining contact with the child and family if possible.
• The advocate must maintain collaborative working relationships with child abuse agencies, law enforcement, and other relevant parties.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills are essential.
• The advocate should demonstrate the ability to conduct professional and quality presentations using computer skills such as WORD, EXCEL, PowerPoint, Printmaster, Adobe, and related technology.
• A valid driver's license is required.
• A background check is necessary.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's Degree or BS in social work or a related field is required.
• Previous experience in child welfare is preferred.
