Duties And Responsibilities
- Partner with teachers, administrators, and staff to understand classroom and operational technology needs and support effective technology use.
- Lead efforts to improve staff confidence, consistency, and effectiveness with instructional technology tools.
- Research, evaluate, and recommend educational technology platforms, digital learning tools, and classroom technology solutions.
- Support the implementation, adoption, and ongoing improvement of educational software and digital resources.
- Develop and provide training for staff on technology tools, AV equipment, classroom systems, and schoolwide platforms.
- Remain current on educational technology trends, classroom technology needs, and best practices in K12 technology support.
Department Leadership and Supervision
- Supervise, support, and evaluate the IT Technician and Data & Assessment Coordinator.
- Foster a service-oriented technology culture focused on responsiveness, communication, and partnership with staff.
- Prioritize technology support requests, projects, and initiatives based on instructional and operational needs.
- Cookordinate technology planning with the Director of Business Operations and school leadership.
- Manage special projects related to technology implementation, systems improvement, and staff support.
Data and Assessment Systems Oversight
- Provide leadership and oversight for the Data & Assessment Coordinator.
- Maintain awareness of data, assessment, reporting, and student information system needs.
- Collaborate with the Data & Assessment Coordinator and school leadership to support effective use of data systems.
- Help ensure assessment platforms, student information systems, and reporting tools support teaching, learning, compliance, and school operations.
- Promote appropriate data privacy, accuracy, accessibility, and governance practices.
Technology Support and Operations
- Oversee day-to-day technology support services for faculty, staff, students, and administrators.
- Ensure timely and effective support for computers, software, classroom technology, AV systems, printers, and related peripherals.
- Cookordinate installation, maintenance, replacement, and lifecycle planning for school technology equipment.
- Oversee procurement, inventory, licensing, and vendor relationships for technology tools and services.
- Analyze support trends, user feedback, and system needs to improve service quality and operational effectiveness.
AV and Classroom Technology
- Oversee the school's AV and classroom technology needs, including equipment planning, procurement, training, and support.
- Develop standards for classroom and meeting-room technology that promote consistency, ease of use, and reliability.
- Support staff in the effective use of presentation systems, classroom displays, audio equipment, and related tools.
Infrastructure and Security Coordination
- Provide oversight of the school's network, systems, and technology infrastructure to ensure reliability, performance, and security.
- Serve as the primary school liaison with external technology vendors, managed service providers, and technical consultants.
- Cookordinate vendor-managed network, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and systems work to ensure school needs are met.
- Maintain working knowledge of infrastructure and cybersecurity matters sufficient to oversee vendors, ask informed questions, and communicate needs to leadership.
- Support continuity planning to minimize disruption to classroom and business operations during outages, emergencies, or data loss events.
- Review vendor reports, service issues, security concerns, and recommended improvements with the Director of Business Operations.
- Ensure technology practices align with applicable privacy, security, compliance, and school operational requirements.
